BCIS Panel Discussion on Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace

A Panel Discussion on “Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace” organized by the Research Division of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS).

The Panel Discussion was held on 14th of May 2024 at the BCIS Olympus Auditorium, BMICH from 1500hrs to 1700hrs.

The distinguished members of the panel included Mr. Marc-Andre Franche, the United Nations Resident Coordinator – Sri Lanka, and H.E. Mr. Hideaki Mizukoshi, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka.

The discussion moderated by Dr. Radhika Coomaraswamy, a member of the BCIS Council of Management, former UN Under Secretary General and Special Representative of the Secretary General on Children and Armed Conflict from 2006-2012.

The discussion brought together esteemed diplomats, scholars, and practitioners in the field to explore the significance of, and current challenges to, multilateral frameworks and diplomatic efforts in fostering global peace and stability.

The Panel Discussion was followed by an interactive session, where the members of the audience raised queries and engaged in a productive exchange of ideas.
