The BCIS hosted the Secretary General of BIMSTEC Ambassador Indra Mani Pandey during his visit to Sri Lanka in April this year.
A closed door Round Table Discussion was organized by the Research Division of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) on 10th April 2024 at the BCIS Olympus Auditorium to discuss the topic of Advancing regional cooperation and integration for the benefit of persons from BIMSTEC countries.
Ambassador Indra Mani Pandey spoke on the plans for the future direction of BIMSTEC, the agenda for the 6th BIMSTEC meeting to be hosted by Thailand this year and the role of Sri Lanka as the lead member state for the coordination of activities in the Science, Technology and Innovation Sector of BIMSTEC.
The discussion brought together professionals and aspiring young researchers, igniting dialogue and innovative ideas to propel the BIMSTEC vision forward. The Round Table Discussion was marked by an aura of collaborative spirit.
