The Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) proudly launched Winds and Waves: Geopolitical Currents in the Indian Ocean since 1945, the latest publication by Prof. Gamini Keerawella, on 05 August 2026 at the BCIS Auditorium (The Olympus).
The event brought together a distinguished gathering of scholars, diplomats, policymakers, and members of the academic community, featuring Deshabandu Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, Former Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, as Chief Guest, and Professor T. V. Paul of McGill University, Canada, as the Keynote Speaker. Through insightful discussions and reflections from the author, the launch highlighted the evolving geopolitical, strategic, and maritime dynamics that continue to shape the Indian Ocean region and the wider world.
