A Round Table Discussion titled “The Role of Judiciary in Democracy and Good Governance,” organized as part of the BCIS Discussion Series on Current Global Issues, took place on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the BCIS Auditorium.
Honorable Buwaneka Aluwihare, former Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court, and President’s Counsel, alongside Mr. Saliya Pieris, former President of the BASL, and President’s Counsel Dr. Jayampathy Wickramaratne, graced the session as distinguished panelists.
Prof. Deepika Udagama, a Member of the BCIS Council of Management and Board of Academic Affairs moderated the discussion.
Following these presentations, an interactive session ensued, allowing the audience to actively participate in a dynamic exchange of ideas with the speakers.
