‘Environmental Safeguards for Maritime Relations’

The Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies held the conference titled, ‘Environmental Safeguards for Maritime Relations’ on June 10, 2022 at the BCIS Auditorium.

Experts/practitioners working on this subject presented their research findings under five different sub themes on maritime relations, such as, Protection Of Marine Ecosystem of Sri Lanka, Early Warning Mechanisms and Disaster Management for Coastal Communities, Blue Economy as a Source of Development and Growth, Mutual Understanding and Cooperation for Shared Maritime Spaces/Resources and Maritime Security and Legal Regimes.

Senior Director, Ambassador Sumith Nakandala, Director, BCIS, Dr Minna Thaheer, Registrar and Chief Administrative Officer, BCIS, Mr. Wasantha Manthripala and the Research Team Members of BCIS were present at the event. The event was coordinated by Ms Thilini Goonesekera, Senior Researcher, BCIS.
