The Annual Convocation of the International Relations programmes of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) was held on Monday, 10 November 2025, from 3.00 p.m. onwards at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). The ceremony marked a significant milestone as 319 students were conferred Certificates, Diplomas, Higher Diplomas, and Postgraduate qualifications in International Relations, celebrating the successful completion of their academic journeys at BCIS.
Professor Shalini Randeria delivered the keynote address, enriching the occasion with her insightful reflections. Adding further distinction to the event, H.E. Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Chairperson of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies, graced the convocation with her esteemed presence.
As BCIS looks ahead to its next chapter, the Centre remains firmly committed to its vision of building a better world grounded in peace, justice, sustainable development, human freedom, and dignity for all. The convocation not only honoured the academic achievements of its graduates but also reaffirmed BCIS’s enduring dedication to fostering informed dialogue, promoting mutual understanding, and contributing to a more just and equitable global society.
