A delegation from Sichuan University, China headed by the Dean of the School of International Studies and Director of the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), Sichuan University – Professor Ding Zhongyi visited the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies in May 2025. The two sides discussed possible avenues for teaching and research collaboration. The Sichuan University delegation included Chief Expert and Deputy Director of the China Center for South Asia Studies – Professor Qiu Yonghui; Director of the Sri Lanka Research Center and Deputy Director of the Indian Ocean Research Center, ISAS – Associate Professor Liu Siwei; and Associate Professor Xiao Jianmei from the China Center for South Asia Studies. The BCIS delegation consisted of Executive Director – Ms. Priyanthi Fernando, and Director of Education – Dr Bhagya Senaratne.
