BCIS Library Celebrates National Reading Month with a Special Workshop

The BCIS Library successfully held a special workshop titled “A Friend in Need: Why Reading and Writing is Crucially Important for Young Lives” on Friday, 24 October 2025, at the BCIS Auditorium.

The session was conducted by Dr. Madhubhashini Disanayake Ratnayake, Senior Lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who shared valuable insights into the transformative power of reading and writing in shaping young minds.

The event brought together enthusiastic students and teachers for an engaging discussion on how cultivating reading and writing habits can inspire creativity, empathy, and critical thinking.

Organised as part of National Reading Month, the workshop reflected the BCIS Library’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of learning and intellectual growth among youth.
