The Research Division of the BCIS organized the 7th Emerging Scholars Symposium on 24th October 2024., under the theme ” International Relations in the Digital Age.’ Mr. Nalaka Gunawardene, who is a Communication Specialist delivered the keynote address under the title ‘IR in the Digital Age: What Can Engage Emerging Scholars?’.
After a rigorous peer-reviewed process, 20 young scholars were selected to present their research findings under the subthemes:

3. Digital Governance and Information
4. Regional Issues in Digital Diplomacy
5. Conflict and Social Media
6. International Trade and Commerce
Ms Lughadarini Yogaraja received the best paper award for the research paper titled ‘Digital Cultural Diplomacy in Conflict Zones and Promoting Empathy through AI and Media: A Case Study on Palestine.’ Ms. Malika Ranasinghe received the best presentation award for the research paper titled ‘The Rise of Digital Diplomacy and its Legal Implications in the Digital Age’
