Political Conflict in South Asia, G.H. Peiris, 2013.
“The text is structured in the form of three parts. The first part provides an overview of violent political convulsions in South Asia, and an examination of their causal nexus. The second part of the book presents country profiles, portraying important types of conflicts of each country. The last part consists of four case studies that are intended to serve as elaborations of some of the more significant conflict-related concerns.
The objective of the study in the book is to fill an existing lacuna, covering the diverse but interrelated facets of violent political conflict in South Asia. The author ventures to suggest that the book is an attempt to cater to an existing need for a ‘general but intensively researched reader’ on a vitally significant aspect of contemporary politics.
