Advanced Workshop Series in ‘Creative Research Methods for Social Sciences’
 
Course instructors: Dr Sasanka Perera and Dr Anushka Kahandagama, from the Colombo Institute for Human Sciences
This Advanced Workshop Series will be taught over a period of four Fridays (May 30th, June 13, 20, 27th, 2025) from 5.00-7.00pm at the BCIS premises.
 
Participants can register separately for one or more Workshop sessions (Rs 6000 each) or register at once for the entire series of 4 workshops (Rs. 20, 000).

The format is of discussion classes, with the final (4th) session being focused on discussing a proposed Research Essay.
 
Requirement for Participants: EITHER a basic background to social research (at least undergraduate level) OR an interest in the notion of social research.
 
Social research depends on numerous sources of data and information. This Advanced Workshop Series will focus on two kinds of research materials, generally not considered seriously enough in social research.
 
These are images (including photographs, films and artworks) and creative writing (including fiction and poetry).
