The Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) organized the fourth BCIS Emerging Scholars Symposium – 2021 (BCIS ESS) under the theme of “International Relations in the New Normal and Beyond’.
The Symposium consisted of eight panels under sub-themes of International Relations in Cyberspace, South Asia and the Evolving Strategic Competition in the Indian Ocean, Vaccine Diplomacy and New Dynamics in the International Relations, Human Security & Violence, Environmental Security and regionalism, and Gender & Violence. The virtual Symposium was held on Thursday, December 02, 2021 proving a platform for thirty three emerging local and international scholars to present 28 papers and make a contribution to the field of International Relations. Legal and Human Rights Expert, Dr. Gehan Gunatileke delivered the key note speech.
Senior Director/BCIS Ambassador Sumith Nakandala and Director/ BCIS Dr. Minna Thaheer delivered speeches at the event. The BCIS research team organized the symposium. The organizers of the event were Ms. Isuri Wickramarathna Siriwardhana, Ms. Shayani Jayasinghe, Ms. Thilini Goonasekara and Ms. Shalika Dias.
