{"id":12327,"date":"2024-11-26T10:00:50","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T04:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bcis.edu.lk\/?p=12327"},"modified":"2025-01-07T09:18:06","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T03:48:06","slug":"bcis-emerging-scholars-symposium-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bcis.edu.lk\/index.php\/2024\/11\/26\/bcis-emerging-scholars-symposium-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"BCIS EMERGING SCHOLARS&#8217; SYMPOSIUM &#8211; 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Research Division of the BCIS organized the 7th Emerging Scholars Symposium on 24th October 2024., under the theme &#8221; International Relations in the Digital Age.&#8217; Mr. Nalaka Gunawardene, who is a Communication Specialist delivered the keynote address under the title &#8216;IR in the Digital Age: What Can Engage Emerging Scholars?&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>After a rigorous peer-reviewed process, 20 young scholars were selected to present their research findings under the subthemes:<\/p>\n<p>1. Foreign Policy and Digital Governance<\/p>\n<p>2. Cyber Security and National Security<\/p>\n<p>3. Digital Governance and Information<\/p>\n<p>4. Regional Issues in Digital Diplomacy<\/p>\n<p>5. Conflict and Social Media<\/p>\n<p>6. International Trade and Commerce<\/p>\n<p>Ms Lughadarini Yogaraja received the best paper award for the research paper titled &#8216;Digital Cultural Diplomacy in Conflict Zones and Promoting Empathy through AI and Media: A Case Study on Palestine.&#8217;
