The Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) and the Royal Thai Embassy in Sri Lanka organised a Seminar on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) as an approach to the Sustainable Development Goals.
A concept of the late king of Thailand, His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Philosophy is being practiced as a means of ensuring a resilient and sustainable economy.
Dr Harinda Vidanage, Director of the BCIS, H. E. Mrs Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Ambassador-designate of Thailand in Sri Lanka, Ms Patcharaporn Sagulwiwat, Assistant Vice President of Charoen Pokhand Foods, Khian Sroisom, an agriculturist involved in implementing SEP at the grassroot level and Mr J. K. Padmasiri, Director of Planning and Monitoring at the Department of Samurdhi Development were the panelists.
